Norwood, MA(11/8/2007) - Analog Devices, Inc. (NYSE: ADI) today announced that it has signed a definitive agreement to sell its CPU voltage regulation and PC thermal monitoring product line to ON Semiconductor Corporation (NASDAQ: ONNN). The product line to be sold consists of core voltage regulator products for the central processing unit (CPU) in computing and gaming applications and temperature sensors and fan-speed controllers for managing the temperature of the CPU.

The divestiture is consistent with ADI’s ongoing transition of its power management portfolio to high-performance products that complement the company’s market-leading portfolio of signal-processing solutions for industrial, medical and scientific instrumentation, as well as communications infrastructure and consumer electronics.

“This agreement allows us to further focus our power management team on areas such as portable medical devices, wireless infrastructure equipment, and digital TVs, where ADI has outstanding systems expertise and an unparalleled reputation for delivering high performance signal processing solutions,” said Peter Henry, ADI’s vice president for Power Management Products.

“Power considerations play an important role with customers as they look for ways to improve the sound, picture, and connectivity features, as well as the battery life of their products. With a complementary portfolio of power management products, ADI can help customers innovate and achieve new levels of differentiation from their signal processing subsystems,” Mr. Henry continued.

Pursuant to the agreement, Analog Devices will sell to ON certain assets and intellectual property related to the product line and will enter into a one-year manufacturing supply arrangement for a total consideration of approximately $185 million in cash. The product line represented approximately $80 million in revenue for ADI during fiscal year 2007, which ended November 3, 2007.

ADI management plans to discuss the transaction in more detail during its fiscal 2007 fourth quarter earnings conference call scheduled for Tuesday, November 27, at 4:30 p.m. ET.

The boards of directors of both companies have approved the transaction, which is expected to close during ADI’s first quarter of fiscal 2008, following the satisfaction of regulatory requirements and other customary closing conditions.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The AD5422 is a low-cost, precision, fully integrated 16-bit converter offering a programmable current source and programmable voltage output designed to meet the requirements of industrial process control applications.
The output current range is programmable to 4mA to 20 mA, 0mA to 20mA or an overrange function of 0mA to 24mA.
Voltage output is provided from a separate pin that can be configured to provide 0V to 5V, 0V to 10V, ±5V or ±10V output ranges, an over-range of 10% is available on all ranges.
Analog outputs are short and open circuit protected and can drive capacitive loads of 1uF and inductive loads of 1H.
The device is specified to operate with a power supply range from 10.8 V to 40 V. Output loop compliance is 0 V to AVDD – 2.5 V.
The flexible serial interface is SPI and MICROWIRE compatible and can be operated in 3-wire mode to minimize the digital isolation required in isolated applications.
The device also includes a power-on-reset function ensuring that the device powers up in a known state and an asynchronous CLEAR pin which sets the outputs to zero-scale / mid-scale voltage output or the low end of the selected current range.
The total output error is typically ±0.1% in current mode and ±0.05% in voltage mode.

Description
The FSA2271 is a high-performance, dual - single pole double throw (SPDT) analog switch with negative swing audio capability. It features ultra-low RON of 0.4Ω (typical) at 3.0V VCC. The FSA2271 operates over a wide VCC range of 1.65V to 4.3V and is fabricated with

GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The AD5762R is a dual, 16-bit, serial input, bipolar voltage output digital-to-analog converter that operates from supply voltages of ±11.4 V up to ±16.5 V. Nominal full-scale output
range is ±10 V. The AD5762R provides integrated output amplifiers, reference buffers and proprietary power-up/powerdown control circuitry. The parts also feature a digital I/O port,
which is programmed via the serial interface and an analog temperature sensor. The part incorporates digital offset and gain adjust registers per channel.
The AD5762R is a high performance converter that offers guaranteed monotonicity, integral nonlinearity (INL) of ±1 LSB, low noise, and 10 μs settling time. The AD5762R includes an
on-chip 5 V reference with a reference tempco of 10 ppm/°C maximum. During power-up (when the supply voltages are changing), VOUT is clamped to 0 V via a low impedance path.
The AD5762R uses a serial interface that operates at clock rates of up to 30 MHz and is compatible with DSP and microcontroller interface standards. Double buffering allows
the simultaneous updating of all DACs. The input coding is programmable to either twos complement or offset binary formats. The asynchronous clear function clears all DAC
registers to either bipolar zero or zero scale depending on the coding used. The AD5762R is ideal for both closed-loop servo control and open-loop control applications. The AD5762R is
available in a 32-lead TQFP, and offers guaranteed specifications over the −40°C to +85°C industrial temperature range. See Figure 1, the functional block diagram.

DESCRIPTION
The BUF01900 and BUF01901 provide a programmable voltage output with 10-bit resolution. Programming of the output occurs through an industry-standard, two-wire serial interface. Once the correct VCOM voltage is established it can easily be stored into the integrated nonvolatile memory.
An initial output voltage and adjustment range can be set by an external resistor-divider. With its large output current capability (up to 100mA), the BUF01900 and BUF01901 are ideally suited as programmable VCOM calibrators in LCD panels.
The BUF01901 has the digital-to-analog converter (DAC) output brought out directly. It has a slightly lower cost than the BUF01900, and works very well with the integrated VCOM in traditional gamma buffers such as the BUFxx702, BUFxx703, BUFxx704 and BUF11705.
The BUF01900 and BUF01901 are both available in TSSOP-8 and 3mm x 3mm DFN-10 packages. The DFN-10 package (only 0.9mm in height) is especially well-suited for notebook computers. Both devices are specified from −40°C to +85°C.

General Description
The AQ1117 is a low dropout three terminal voltage regulator, offered in popular fixed options
or an adjustable version that can set a precise voltage from 1.22V to 12V with two external
resistors.
AQ1117 is offered in SOT-89 which has a lower thermal resistance and fits in smaller foot print
than a standard SOT-223. With a dropout voltage of less than one volt, the AQ1117 can be

The NCP3102 is a high efficiency, 10 A DC-DC buck converter designed to operate from a 5 V to 13.2 V supply. The device is capable of producing an output voltage as low as 0.8 V. The NCP3102 can continuously output 10 A through MOSFET switches driven by an internally set 275 kHz oscillator. Description
PM6680 is a dual step-down controller specifically designed to provide extremely high efficiency conversion, with lossless current sensing technique. The constant on-time architecture assures fast load transient response and the embedded voltage feed-forward provides nearly constant switching frequency operation. An embedded integrator control loop compensates the DC voltage error due to the output ripple.
Pulse skipping technique increases efficiency at very light load. Moreover a minimum switching
frequency of 33kHz is selectable to avoid audio noise issues. The PM6680 provides a selectable switching frequency, allowing three different values of switching frequencies for the two switching sections. The output voltages OUT1 and OUT2 can be adjusted from 0.9 V to 5.5 V and from 0.9 V to 3.3 V respectively.

Description
The STP08CP05 is a monolithic, low voltage, low current, power 8-bit shift register designed for
LED panel displays. The STP08CP05 contains a 8-bit serial-in, parallel-out shift register that feeds a 8-bit D-type storage register. In the output stage, eight regulated current sources were designed to provide 5-100mA constant current to drive the LEDs, the output current setup time is 10ns (typ), thus improving the system performance.
The STP08CP05 is backward compatible in functionality and footprint with STP8C/L596.
Through an external resistor, users can adjust the STP08CP05 output current, controlling in this way the light intensity of LEDs, in addition, user can adjust LED’s brightness intensity from 0% to 100% via OE pin.
The STP08CP05 guarantees a 20V output driving capability, allowing users to connect more LEDs in series. The high clock frequency, 30 MHz, also satisfies the system requirement of high volume data transmission. The 3.3V of voltage supply is useful for applications that interface with any micro from 3.3V. Compared with a standard TSSOP package, the TSSOP exposed pad increases heat dissipation capability by a 2.5 factor.
