General Description
The LM95235 is an 11-bit digital temperature sensor with a 2-wire System Management Bus (SMBus) interface and TruTherm technology that can monitor the temperature of a remote diode as well as its own temperature. The LM95235 can be used to very accurately monitor the temperature of external devices such as microprocessors, graphics processors, or a diode-connected MMBT3904 transistor. For automotive applications the LM95235Q is available that is AECQ100 Grade3 compliant and is manufactured on an Automotive Grade Flow. TruTherm BJT (transistor) beta compensation technology allows the LM95235 to precisely monitor thermal diodes found in 90 nm and smaller geometry processes. LM95235 reports temperature in two different formats for +127.875°C/-128°C range and 0°C/255°C range. The LM95235 T_CRIT and OS outputs are asserted when either unmasked channel exceeds its programmed limit and can be used to shutdown the system, to turn on the system fans, or as a microcontroller interrupt function. The current status of the T_CRIT and OS pins can be read back from the status registers via the SMBus interface. All limits have a shared programmable hysteresis register.
The remote temperature channel of the LM95235 has a programmable digital filter. The LM95235 contains a diode model selection bit to select between a typical Intel® processor on a 65 nm or 90 nm process or MMBT3904, as well as an offset register for maximum flexibility and best accuracy.
The LM95235 has a three-level address pin to connect up to 3 devices to the same SMBus master, that is shared with the OS output. The LM95235 has a programmable conversion rate register and a standby mode to save power. One conversion can be triggered in standby mode by writing to the one-shot register.

RealVideo and RealAudio on Blackfin shrink time to market for PMPs

Beijing, China(11/20/2007) - Analog Devices (NYSE: ADI) today announced that it is working with RealNetworks®, Inc. to provide the latest generation of Personal Media featuring full D1 broadcast resolution playback of RealVideo® and RealAudio® media files, the same formats used in RealPlayer®. The combined efficiency of the RealVideo format and the performance of the Blackfin® processor deliver a high-quality level of video playback traditionally not found in personal media players. This fall Chinese market leader Aigo introduced two models, the Aigo E898 and F965R, that feature support of RealVideo, RealAudio and the RMVB formats running on a Blackfin processor. Aigo credits the Blackfin with shortening time to market and reducing the risk in product design, since the inherent programmability of Blackfin allows for rapid development cycles.

According to Kevin Wang, senior manager at iSuppli Corporation, “iSuppli expects that China’s domestic portable media players (PMPs) production will grow to 122 million units by 2011. Although at present the market is dominated by low-end MP4 players, in the newest players with RealVideo, RealAudio and RMVB support, Chinese manufacturers have the most favored media format today. The new products will also greatly enrich the source of content through downloading directly from the Internet. ADI’s Blackfin product can help Chinese PMP makers introduce new PMPs with shorter time to market, leveraging third-party design houses. Blackfin products from ADI are already widely adopted in mobile TVs and the DVR market in Asia.”

The SMRC1D is a truly precision molded surface mountable resistor. It utilizes the Bulk Metal® Foil technology for the resistive element with its inherent low TCR and long term stability. This surface mountable product affords similar performance to the time tested VSR molded through hole product.
Voltage division with tight tracking < 5ppm/°C can be achieved with 2 randomly selected units even with a large ratio between the two values.
The molded SMRC1D, while slightly larger and heavier than the Bulk Metal® Foil VSM surface mountable chip resistor, has a rugged construction capable of withstanding significant thermal
