GM1117 of positive adjustable and fixed regulators is designed to provide 1.0A output with low dropout voltage performance. On-chip trimming adjusts the reference voltage to 1%. The LX8585/85A Series ICs are low dropout three-terminal regulators with a minimum of 4.6A output current. Pentium® Processor and Power PCTM applications requiring fast transient response are ideally suited for this product family. The LX8585A is guaranteed to have < 1.2V at 4.6A, while the LX8585 are specified for 1.4V, making them ideal to provide well regulated outputs of 2.5V to 3.6V using a 5V input supply. Fixed versions are also available and specified in the Available Options table below. Current limit is trimmed above 4.6A to ensure adequate output current and controlled short-circuit current. On-chip thermal limiting provides protection against any possible overload that would create excessive junction temperatures. The XC6405 series are precise, low noise, high speed, high current, positive voltage low dropout regulators with built-in voltage detector. They are fabricated using Torex’s CMOS process. Performance features of the series includes high ripple rejection and low dropout voltage, and the series features a voltage reference, an error amplifier, a current limiter and a phase compensation circuit plus a driver transistor.
Detect voltage is selectable in 100mV increments within the range of 0.9V to 5.5V and the LDO output voltage is selectable within a range of 0.9V to 5.1V, also in 100mV increments.
The series is also compatible with low ESR ceramic capacitors which give added output stability. This stability can be maintained even during load fluctuations due to the excellent transient response of the series. The current limiter's foldback circuit also operates as a short circuit protection for the output current limiter and the output pin. The series provides options to the user to select from a variety of circuit features, such as detector monitoring, detector output logic, CE and EN pin input logic, internal pull-up / down resistance, and power ready. The IC's internal regulator circuit can be placed in stand-by mode via the EN function (XC6405 A to C series). The whole IC can be put in to stand-by mode via the CE function with the XC6405D series (semi-custom). In the stand-by mode, power consumption is greatly reduced. The XC6405 A and B series features the toggle operation function. The regulator output can be OFF when the XC6405B series detects voltage (semi-custom). The XC6405E series can monitor another power source by using the VSEN pin (semi-custom).
The XC6405F series can delay the detector output: the delay time can be controlled by the use of an external capacitor (semi-custom).

The APU1206 family of devices are ultra low dropout 1A regulators using PNP transistor as the pass element. These products are ideal when a single input supply is only available and the dropout voltage is less than 1V, exceeding the minimum dropout characteristics of NPN/PNP hybrid regulators. One common application of these regulators is where input is 3.3V and a 2.5V output is needed.
Besides the low dropout of less than 0.5V, other features of the family of the parts are: micro-power shutdown capability and output UVLO detection where Flag pin is switched low when output is below 5% of its nominal point.

The XC6701 series are positive voltage regulator ICs manufactured using CMOS process with 28V of operation voltage.
The series consists of a voltage reference, an error amplifier, a current limiter, a thermal shutdown circuit and a phase compensation circuit plus a driver transistor.
The output voltage is selectable in 0.1V increments within the range of 1.8V to 18V which fixed by laser trimming technologies. The output stabilization capacitor (CL) is also compatible with low ESR ceramic capacitors.
The over current protection circuit and the thermal shutdown circuit are built-in. These two protection circuits will operate when the output current reaches current limit level or the junction temperature reaches temperature limit level.

General Description
The LM133/LM333 are adjustable 3-terminal negative voltage regulators capable of supplying in excess of −3.0A over an output voltage range of −1.2V to −32V.

The Series STR-F6600 is specifically designed to satisfy the requirements for increased integration and reliability in off-line quasi-resonant flyback converters.
The series incorporates a primary control and drive circuit with discrete avalanche-rated power MOSFETs.

The SP432 is low-voltage three-terminal adjustable voltage references, with specified thermal stability over applicable industrial and commercial temperature ranges.
Output voltage can be set to any value between VREF (1.24V) and 20V with two external resistors.
These devices have a typical output impedance of 0.25Ω. Active output circuitry provides a very sharp turn-on characteristic, making the SP432 excellent replacements for low-voltage Zener diodes in many applications, including onboard regulation and adjustable power supplies.

The SGM2022 is a dual, low-power, low-dropout, CMOS linear voltage regulators.

November 5, 2007 - National Semiconductor Corporation (NYSE:NSM) today introduced a new line of buck switching regulators that are the first in the industry to feature high power density and self-synchronization.  These 10 full-featured, synchronous buck regulators provide high-efficiency DC-DC power conversion for point-of-load power supply designs in applications such as communication, data storage, industrial and automotive.  Part of National’s PowerWise® energy-efficient product family, the highly integrated regulators feature a variety of input voltages and output currents, and offer a combination of power sequencing, adjustable switching frequency and clock synchronization options. 

The new line of LM201xx and LM202xx synchronous buck regulators includes 2A, 3A, 4A and 5A output current devices.  Each regulator integrates two switching MOSFETs and utilizes an externally compensated peak current-mode control loop, providing superior load transient response in low duty cycle applications.  The external compensation allows the performance to be optimized for the output capacitor and inductor.  With current-mode control, just two external components are needed for compensation.  The ability of the 3A and 4A clock synchronization devices to self-synchronize when in out-of-phase operation reduces input capacitance and voltage ripple in power supply designs.

National offers a downloadable power supply design tool for the new low voltage synchronous buck regulators that eliminates the need for tedious hand calculations.  The tool, in a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet format, calculates component values based on user-specified design parameters to quickly create a complete power supply design.  The design tool allows the design engineer to quickly analyze the control loop response, thermal performance and efficiency of the design.

Technical Features of the New Low-Voltage Buck Regulators
Offered in a 16-pin thermally enhanced TSSOP package, the nine low-voltage buck regulators operate with an input voltage range from 2.95V to 5.5V and deliver up to 5A of continuous output current.  Both fixed and adjustable switching frequency versions are available.

Each buck regulator has a precise internal voltage of 1.5 percent accuracy from -40 degrees C to 125 degrees C while providing excellent line and load regulation.  They include a precision enable pin that allows accurate setting of the turn-on threshold and sequencing of the turn-on of multiple devices, eliminating the need for an external voltage supervisor chip.  Also included is a power good indicator that regulates the output voltage within tolerance and can sequence loads that have an enable input.

A tracking and soft-start feature allows the design engineer to set the output to accurately track an external supply, as well as provide a controlled voltage ramp to protect loads against in-rush current that could cause latch-up.  The monotonic start-up into pre-biased load feature prevents the possibility of latch-up in field programmable gate array (FPGA) and application-specific integrated circuit (ASIC) applications.

The buck regulators enhance system reliability by using an accurate current limit to provide robust protection for long-term hard shorts while minimizing the inductor size.  Over-voltage and under-voltage events are monitored at the output voltage.
