DESCRIPTION
converter delivering high efficiency in a SOT23-6 package. The device has an internal NMOS switch and PMOS synchronous rectifier and has the capacity of supplying 3.3V at 100mA from a single AA cell input.
High frequency switching (up to 2MHz) minimizes the board area by allowing the use of tiny, low profile inductors and ceramic capacitors.
The KB3436 provides automatic pulse skipping at light loads, thus reducing the supply current for extended battery life. At shutdown, the KB3436 fully discharges the output to ground and draws no supply current.
The KB3436 is available in small SOT23-6 package with both fixed and adjustable output voltage versions.

October 31, 2007 – National Semiconductor Corporation (NYSE:NSM) today introduced a new low-power precision comparator with integrated 2.048V reference that provides adjustable hysteresis for the highest-accuracy signal detection in power supply and battery monitors, sensor interface and threshold detectors. The LMP7300 is the latest addition to the company’s PowerWise® energy-efficient product family.

The LMP7300’s adjustable hysteresis improves the noise immunity of the comparator and prevents false readings by providing engineers the flexibility to develop precise bidirectional threshold trip points that are positive, negative, symmetric or asymmetric. In addition, the two threshold trip points are independent of one another to further simplify designs without interdependency constraints.

The comparator’s low-offset voltage of 300 uV and low supply current of 10 uA make it well-suited for precision battery-operated systems. It has a wide supply voltage range of 2.7V to 12V for use in 3.3V, 5V, and plus and minus 5V applications. A 2.048V reference voltage with 0.25 percent maximum error provides a precise input monitoring voltage reference level. The comparator’s propagation delay is less than 5 microseconds to enable fast, precise, low-power signal detection.

Built on National’s proprietary VIP50 BiCMOS process technology, the LMP7300 is the latest addition to the company’s precision and low-voltage, low-power amplifier families. These amplifiers dramatically improve system accuracy and power consumption.

DESCRIPTION
The kB3440 is a high efficiency, fixed frequency, Buck- Boost DC/DC converter that operates from input voltages above, below or equal to the output voltage. The topology incorporated in the IC provides a continuous transfer function through all operating modes, making the product ideal for single lithium-ion, multicell alkaline or NiMH applications where the output voltage is within the battery voltage range.
The device includes two 0.19ohm N-channel MOSFET switches and two 0.22ohm P-channel switches. Switching frequencies up to 2MHz are programmed with an external resistor and the oscillator can be synchronized to an external clock. Quiescent current is only 40μA in Burst
Mode operation, maximizing battery life in portable applications.
Burst Mode operation is user controlled and can be enabled by driving the MODE/SYNC pin high. If the MODE/SYNC pin has either a clock or is driven low, then fixed frequency switching is enabled.
Other features include a 1μA shutdown, soft-start control, thermal shutdown and current limit. The kB3440 is available in the 10-pin thermally enhanced MSOP and (3mm 3mm) DFN packages.
