Description
The ZL60214 video IP surveillance camera cable extender module is a fully integrated device designed for direct connection between two types of media, 10/100Base-TX (Fast Ethernet on shielded/unshielded twisted pair copper cables (STP/UTP) and 100Base-FX (Fast Ethernet on multi-mode fiber) with single fiber, to extend the network reach up to 2 km.
The Link is based on Zarlink’s world class family of high-performance LEDs, VCSELs and PINs and have been optimized to offer excellent optical coupling efficiency in combination with high bandwidth operation and extremely good reliability.
The optical part of the modules uses dichronic beamsplitters for maximum optical power budget and minimum crosstalk. Minimum internal crosstalk is achieved by the use of wavelength-selective detectors.
The Modules is designed for multi-mode fiber and optimized for 62.5/125 μm fiber.
The link offers attractive advantages in terms of weight and flexibility that allows the device to be attached directly to the copper cable and fit inside the outdoor protective housing for the IP camera.
Power supply of 100 to 230 V AC.
The part is compliant to the EU directive 2002/95/EC issued 27 January 2003 [RoHS] with exception number 6.

General Description
The MAX3963 is a low-noise transimpedance preamplifier for FDDI and 155Mbps ATM optical receivers. The MAX3963’s dynamic range is optimized for use in multimode LED-based applications.
The preamplifier converts a small photodiode current to a differential voltage, with typical transimpedance of 22kΩ. Input-referred noise of only 21nA allows detection of signals as small as 267nA, while pulse-width distortion is only 85ps with a 60μA input signal. In a 1300nm multimode receiver, with responsivity of 0.7A/W, the MAX3963’s dynamic range spans from
-36dBm to -13.7dBm. The circuit operates from a single +5V supply, and typically consumes only 60mW power.
The MAX3963 die includes a filter connection, which provides positive bias for the photodiode through a 1kΩ resistor to VCC. This feature, combined with the small die size, allows the MAX3963 to fit easily into a TO-style package with a photodiode.
The differential outputs are back terminated with 60Ω per side, allowing the easy use of filters to improve sensitivity.
The MAX3963 is designed to be used with the MAX3964 limiting amplifier IC. It is available in an 8-pin SO package and as dice.

Description
The ZL60113 and ZL60114 together make a high speed transmitter/receiver pair for parallel fiber applications.
The ZL60113 transmitter module converts parallel electrical input signals via a laser driver and a VCSEL array into parallel optical output signals at a wavelength of 850 nm.
The ZL60114 receiver module converts parallel optical input signals via a PIN photodiode array and a transimpedance and limiting amplifier into electrical output signals.
The modules are pluggable each fitted with an industrystandard MegArray® BGA connector. This provides ease of assembly on the host board and enables provisioning of bandwidth on demand.
Reliability assurance is based on Telcordia GR-468- CORE and the parts are compliant to the EU directive 2002/95/EC issued 27 January 2003 [RoHS].
