Description
The GM66500 series is 5.0A low-dropout linear voltage regulators that provide a low-voltage, high-current output with a minimum of external components.
The GM66500 series offers extremely low dropout typically 400mV at 5.0A) and low ground current (typically 70mA at 5.0A).
The GM66500 series is ideal for PC add-in cards that need to convert from standard 3.0V to 2.5V and 2.5V to 1.8V, down to new, lower core voltages. A guaranteed maximum dropout voltage of 500mV over all operating conditions allows the GM66500 series to provide 2.5V from a supply as low as 3V. The GM66500 series also has fast transient response, for heavy switching applications. The device requires only 47μF of output capacitance to maintain stability and achieve fast transient response.
The GM66500 series is fully protected with overcurrent limiting, thermal shutdown, reversed-battery protection, reversed-lead insertion protection, and reversed-leakage protection.
The GM66501 series offers a TTL-logic-compatible enable pin and an error flag that indicates undervoltage and overcurrent conditions. Offered in a fixed voltages, 1.8V and 2.5V, the GM66500 series comes in the TO-220 and TO-263 packages and is an ideal upgrade to older, NPNbased linear voltage regulators.

On-chip trimming adjusts the reference voltage to 1%. Current limit is also trimmed, minimizing the stress under overload conditions on both the regulator and power source circuitry.
The AMS2911 devices are pin compatible with other three-terminal regulators and are offered in the 3 lead TO-220 package, in the 3Lead TO-263 (Plastic DD), in the TO-252 (DPAK) and in the low profile surface mount SOT-223 package.

DESCRIPTION
The APE8955 is a 5A ultra low dropout linear regulator. The product is specifically designed to provide well supply voltage for front side bus termination on motherboard and NB applications. The IC needs two supply voltages, a voltage for the circuitry and a main supply voltage for power conversion, to reduce power dissipation and provide extremely low dropout. The APE8955 integrates many functions. A Power-on-Reset(POR) circuit monitors both supply voltage to prevent wrong operations. A thermal shutdown and current limit functions protect the device against thermal and current over-load. A POK indicates the output status with time delay which is set internally. It can control other converter for power sequence. The APE8955
can be enabled by other power system. Pulling and holding the EN pin below 0.4V shuts off the output. The APE8955 is available in ESOP-8 package which features small size as SO-8 and exposed pad to reduce the junction-to-case resistance, being applicable in 2~3W applications.

Description
The S-L2980 series is a positive voltage regulator with a low dropout voltage, high output voltage accuracy, and low current consumption developed based on CMOS technology.
A built-in low on-resistance transistor provides a low dropout voltage and a large output current. A shutdown circuit ensures long battery life.
Various types of output capacitors can be used in the S-L2980 series compared with the conventional CMOS voltage regulators. A small ceramic capacitor can also be used.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION
TThhee AMS2115 is a single IC controller that drives an external N channel MOSFET as a source follower to produce a fast transient response, low dropout voltage regulator.
The fast transient load performance is obtained by eliminating expensive tantalum or bulk electrolytic output capacitors in the most demanding modern microprocessor applications. Precision-trimmed adjustable and fixed output voltage versions accommodate any required microprocessor power supply voltage.
By selecting the N-channel MOSFET RDS(ON) a very low dropout voltage can be achieved.
A protection feature includes a high side current limit amplifier that activates a circuit to limit the FET gate drive.
A shutdown pin turns off the gate drive and some internal circuits to reduce quiescent current.
AMS2115 is offered in 8L SOIC and 8L PDIP package.

The ALPHA Semiconductor AS1117 is a low power positive-voltage regulator designed to meet 800mA output current and comply with SCSI-II specifications with a fixed output voltage of 2.85V.
