The MC34063A/MC33063A is a monolithic regulator sub system intended for use as DC to DC converter. This device contains a temperature compensated bandgap reference, a duty cycle control oscillator, driver and high current output switch. It can be used for step down, step up or inverting switching regulators as well as for series pass regulators.

Functional Overview
The GL620USB provides a single-chip solution for connecting two or more PCs via their USB ports. According to USB protocol, the PC is the host and the device is a slave, where the host initiates all the USB traffic and the slave responds to the host’s requests. In other words, a host cannot talk to another host via USB protocol; instead, a host can only talk to one or more devices. The GL620USB’s patent-pending architecture overcomes the USB inherently incompatibility of connecting two or more PCs by providing two independent USB transceivers and SIEs for each host, i.e., data can be transferred in both directions simultaneously.

The LTC 1771 is a high efficiency current mode stepdown DC/DC controller that draws as little as 10mA DC supply current to regulate the output at no load while maintaining high efficiency for loads up to several amps. The LTC1771 drives an external P-channel power MOSFET using a current mode, constant off-time architecture. An external sense resistor is used to program the operating current level. Current mode control provides short-circuit protection, excellent transient response and controlled start-up behavior. Burst Mode operation enables the
LTC1771 to maintain high efficiency down to extremely low currents. Shutdown mode further reduces the supply current to a mere 2mA. For low noise applications, Burst Mode operation can be easily disabled with the MODE pin. UCC38C4x family is a high-performance currentmode PWM controller. It is an enhanced BiCMOS version with pin-for-pin compatibility to the industry standard UC384xA family and UC384x family of PWM controllers. Housed in SOIC−8 or PDIP−8 package, the NCP1200A enhances the previous NCP1200 series by offering a reduced optocoupler current together with an increased drive capability. Due to its novel concept, the circuit allows the implementation of complete off−line AC−DC adapters, battery charger or a SMPS where standby power is a key parameter.
With an internal structure operating at a fixed 40 kHz, 60 kHz or 100 kHz, the controller supplies itself from the high−voltage rail, avoiding the need of an auxiliary winding. This feature naturally eases the designer task in battery charger applications. Finally, current−mode control provides an excellent audio−susceptibility and inherent pulse−by−pulse control.
When the current setpoint falls below a given value, e.g. the output power demand diminishes, the IC automatically enters the so−called skip cycle mode and provides excellent efficiency at light loads.
Because this occurs at a user adjustable low peak current, no acoustic noise takes place.
The NCP1200A features an efficient protective circuitry which, in presence of an overcurrent condition, disables the output pulses while the device enters a safe burst mode, trying to restart. Once the default has gone, the device auto−recovers.

The UC1842/3/4/5 family of control ICs provides the necessary features to implement off-line or DC to DC fixed frequency current mode control schemes with a minimal external parts count. Internally implemented circuits include under-voltage lockout featuring start up current less than 1mA, a precision reference trimmed for accuracy at the error amp input, logic to insure latched
operation, a PWM comparator which also provides current limit control, and a totem pole output stage designed to source or sink high peak current. The output stage, suitable for driving N Channel MOSFETs, is low in the off state.
Differences between members of this family are the under-voltage lockout thresholds and maximum duty cycle ranges. The UC1842 and UC1844 have UVLO thresholds of 16V (on) and 10V (off), ideally suited to off-line applications. The corresponding thresholds for the UC1843 and UC1845 are 8.4V and 7.6V. The UC1842 and UC1843 can operate to duty cycles approaching 100%. A range of zero to 50% is obtained by the UC1844 and UC1845 by the addition of an internal toggle flip flop which blanks the output off every other clock cycle.
