GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The TDA9952 is a 10-bit analog-to-digital interface for CCD cameras. The device consists of a Correlated Double Sampling (CDS) circuit, a digitally Programmable Gain Amplifier (PGA), a black level clamp and a 10-bit Analog-to-Digital Converter (ADC).
An internal CDS input buffer is incorporated in order to avoid using an external buffer that would consume more power and therefore optimizing the application for low noise, low power working.
The PGA gain, the ADC clamp level and other settings are controlled via a 3-wire serial digital interface.
An additional DAC is provided for system controls.
The TDA9952 operates from a single 3 V power supply (2.7 V minimum) and dissipates 135 mW (typical value).

DESCRIPTION
The WM8213 is a 16-bit analogue front end/digitiser IC which processes and digitises the analogue output signals from CCD sensors or Contact Image Sensors (CIS) at pixel sample rates of up to 24MSPS.
The device includes three analogue signal processing channels each of which contains Reset Level Clamping, Correlated Double Sampling and Programmable Gain and Offset adjust functions. Three multiplexers allow single channel processing. The output from each of these
channels is time multiplexed into a single high-speed 16-bit Analogue to Digital Converter. The digital output data is available in 8-bit wide multiplexed format and there is also an optional single byte output mode, or 4-bit multiplexed LEGACY mode.
An internal 4-bit DAC is supplied for internal reference level generation. This may be used during CDS to reference CIS signals or during Reset Level Clamping to clamp CCD signals. An external reference level may also be supplied. ADC references are generated internally, ensuring optimum performance from the device.
Using an analogue supply voltage of 3.3V and a digital interface supply of 3.3V, the WM8213 typically only consumes 350mW.

 The AD9995 is a highly integrated CCD signal processor for digital still camera and camcorder applications. It includes a complete analog front end with A/D conversion, combined with a
full-function programmable timing generator. The timing generator is capable of supporting both 4- and 6-phase vertical clocking. A Precision Timing core allows adjustment of high speed clocks with less than 600 ps resolution at 36 MHz operation.

 The AD9995 is specified at pixel rates of up to 36 MHz. The analog front end includes black level clamping, CDS, VGA, and a 12-bit A/D converter. The timing generator provides all the necessary CCD clocks: RG, H-clocks, V-clocks, sensor gate pulses, substrate clock, and substrate bias control. Operation is programmed using a 3-wire serial interface.
Packaged in a space-saving 56-lead LFCSP, the AD9995 is specified over an operating temperature range of –20°C to +85°C.

 The TC215 is a full-frame charge-coupled-device (CCD) image sensor that provides very high-resolution image acquisition for image-processing applications such as robotic vision, medical X-ray analysis, and metrology. The image format measures 12 mm horizontally by 12.216 mm vertically; the image-area diagonal is 17.2 mm. The image-area pixels are 12-mm square. The image area contains 1018 active lines with 1000 active pixels per line. Six additional dark reference lines give a total of 1024 lines in the image area, and 24 additional dark reference
pixels per line give a total of 1024 pixels per horizontal line.
 The full-frame image sensor should be used with a shutter or with strobed illumination to prevent smearing of the image during readout. To prepare the imaging area for image capture, the photoelectric charge that has accumulated in the image pixels can be transferred into the clearing drain in one millisecond. After image capture (integration time), the readout is accomplished by transferring the charge, one line at a time, into two serial registers, each of which contains 512 data elements and 12 dummy elements. The typical serial-register
clocking rate is 10 megapixels per second. Operating the TC215 at the typical data rate of one field per frame generates video output at a continuous 15 frames per second.
 Gated floating-diffusion detection structures are used with each serial register to convert charge to signal voltage. External reset allows the application of off-chip correlated clamp sample-and-hold amplifiers for low-noise performance. To provide high output-drive capability, both outputs are buffered by low-noise, two-stage, source-follower amplifiers. These two output signals can provide a data rate of 20 megapixels per second when combined off chip. At room temperature, the readout noise is 55 electrons and a minimum dynamic range of 60 dB is available.
