DESCRIPTION
The WM8720 is a high performance stereo DAC designed for audio applications such as CD, DVD, home theatre systems, set top boxes and digital TV. The WM8720 supports data input word lengths from 16 to 24-bits and sampling rates up to 96kHz. The WM8720 consists of a serial interface port, digital interpolation filter, multi-bit sigma delta modulator and stereo DAC in a small 20-pin SSOP package. The WM8720 also includes a digitally controllable mute and attenuator function on each channel.
The WM8720 supports a variety of connection schemes for audio DAC control. The SPI-compatible serial control port provides access to a wide range of features including onchip mute, attenuation and phase reversal. A hardware controllable interface is also available.
The programmable data input port supports a variety of glueless interfaces to popular DSPs, audio decoders and S/PDIF and AES/EBU receivers.

DESCRIPTION
The WM9713L is a highly integrated input/output device designed for mobile computing and communications.
The chip is architected for dual CODEC operation, supporting Hi-Fi stereo Codec functions via the AC link interface, and additionally supporting voice Codec functions via a PCM type Synchronous Serial Port (SSP). A third, auxiliary DAC is provided which may be used to support generation of supervisory tones, or ring-tones at different sample rates to the main codec.
The device can connect directly to a 4-wire or 5-wire touchpanel, mono or stereo microphones, stereo headphones and a stereo speaker, reducing total component count in the system. Cap-less connections to the headphones, speakers, and earpiece may be used, saving cost and board area. Additionally, multiple analog input and output pins are provided for seamless integration with analog connected wireless communication devices.
All device functions are accessed and controlled through a single AC-Link interface compliant with the AC’97 standard. The 24.576 MHz masterclock can be input directly or generated internally from a 13MHz (or other frequency) clock by an on-chip PLL. The PLL supports a wide range of input clock from 2.048MHz to 78.6MHz.
The WM9713L operates at supply voltages from 1.8V to 3.6V. Each section of the chip can be powered down under software control to save power. The device is available in a small leadless 7x7mm QFN package, ideal for use in hand-held portable systems.

DESCRIPTION
The WM8146 is a 12-bit analogue front end/digitiser IC, which processes and digitises the analogue output signals from linear CCD sensors at pixel sample rates of up to 6MSPS.
The device includes three analogue signal processing channels each of which contains Reset Level Clamping, Correlated Double Sampling and Programmable Gain and Offset adjust functions. The output from each of these channels is time multiplexed into a single high-speed 12-bit Analogue to Digital Converter. The digital output data is available in 8+4-bit wide multiplexed format, with no missing codes.
The WM8146 is controlled via a configurable serial interface, which is compatible with all of Wolfson’s imaging devices.
Powered from an analogue supply voltage of 5V and a digital interface supply of either 5V or 3.3V, the WM8146 typically only consumes 175mW when operating from 5V supplies.

The WM8956 is a low power, high quality stereo DAC designed for portable multimedia applications.
Stereo class D speaker drivers provide 1W per channel into 8Ω loads with a 5V supply. Low leakage, excellent PSRR and pop/click suppression mechanisms also allow direct battery connection to the speaker supply. Flexible speaker boost settings allow speaker output power to be maximised while minimising other analogue supply currents.
A highly flexible input configuration for up to three stereo sources is integrated, with a complete microphone interface. External component requirements are drastically reduced as no separate microphone, speaker or headphone amplifiers are required.
Stereo 24-bit sigma-delta DACs are used with low power oversampling digital interpolation filters and a flexible digital audio interface.
The master clock can be input directly or generated internally by an onboard PLL, supporting most commonly-used clocking schemes.
The WM8956 operates at analogue supply voltages down to 2.7V, although the digital supplies can operate at voltages down to 1.71V to save power. The WM8741 is a very high performance stereo DAC designed for audio applications such as professional recording systems, A/V receivers and high specification CD, DVD and home theatre systems. The device supports PCM data input word lengths from 16 to 32-bits and sampling rates up to 192kHz. The WM8741 also supports DSD bitstream data format, in both direct DSD and PCM-converted DSD modes.
The WM8741 includes fine resolution volume and soft mute control, digital de-emphasis and a range of advanced digital filter responses, followed by a digital interpolation filter, multi-bit sigma delta modulator and stereo DAC. Wolfson’s patented architecture optimises the linearity of the DAC and provides maximum insensitivity to clock jitter.
The digital filters include several selectable roll-off and performance characteristics. The user can select between standard sharp or slow roll-off responses. In addition, the WM8741 includes a selection of advanced digital filter characteristics including non-half band filters and minimum phase filters. This flexibility provides a range of benefits, such as significantly reduced pre-ringing and minimal group delay. The internal digital filters can also be by-passed and the WM8741 used with an external digital filter.
The WM8741 supports two connection schemes for audio DAC control. The 2/3 wire serial control interface provides access to all features. A range of features can also be accessed by hardware control interface.
