General Description
The LM140/LM340A/LM340/LM78XXC monolithic
3-terminal positive voltage regulators employ internal
current-limiting, thermal shutdown and safe-area compensation,
making them essentially indestructible. If adequate heat
sinking is provided, they can deliver over 1.0A output current.
They are intended as fixed voltage regulators in a wide
range of applications including local (on-card) regulation for
elimination of noise and distribution problems associated
with single-point regulation. In addition to use as fixed voltage
regulators, these devices can be used with external
components to obtain adjustable output voltages and currents.
Considerable effort was expended to make the entire series
of regulators easy to use and minimize the number of external
components. It is not necessary to bypass the output,
although this does improve transient response. Input bypassing
is needed only if the regulator is located far from the
filter capacitor of the power supply.
The 5V, 12V, and 15V regulator options are available in the
steel TO-3 power package. The LM340A/LM340/LM78XXC
series is available in the TO-220 plastic power package, and
the LM340-5.0 is available in the SOT-223 package, as well
as the LM340-5.0 and LM340-12 in the surface-mount TO-
263 package.

General Description
Each of these monolithic counters contains four masterslave flip-flops and additional gating to provide a divide-bytwo counter and a three-stage binary counter for which the count cycle length is divide-by-five for the 'LS90 and divideby- eight for the 'LS93. All of these counters have a gated zero reset and the LS90 also has gated set-to-nine inputs for use in BCD nine's complement applications. To use their maximum count length (decade or four bit binary), the B input is connected to the QA output. The input count pulses are applied to input A and the outputs are as described in the appropriate truth table. A symmetrical divide- by-ten count can be obtained from the 'LS90 counters by connecting the QD output to the A input and applying the input count to the B input which gives a divide-by-ten square wave at output QA.

General Description
The LM3914 is a monolithic integrated circuit that senses analog voltage levels and drives 10 LEDs, providing a linear analog display. A single pin changes the display from a moving dot to a bar graph. Current drive to the LEDs is regulated and programmable, eliminating the need for resistors. This feature is one that allows operation of the whole system from less than 3V. The circuit contains its own adjustable reference and accurate 10-step voltage divider. The low-bias-current input buffer accepts signals down to ground, or V−, yet needs no protection against inputs of 35V above or below ground. The buffer drives 10 individual comparators referenced to the precision divider. Indication non-linearity can thus be held typically to 1⁄2%, even over a wide temperature range. Versatility was designed into the LM3914 so that controller, visual alarm, and expanded scale functions are easily added on to the display system. The circuit can drive LEDs of many colors, or low-current incandescent lamps. Many LM3914s can be “chained” to form displays of 20 to over 100 segments. Both ends of the voltage divider are externally available so that 2 drivers can be made into a zero-center meter. The LM3914 is very easy to apply as an analog meter circuit. A 1.2V full-scale meter requires only 1 resistor and a single 3V to 15V supply in addition to the 10 display LEDs. If the 1 resistor is a pot, it becomes the LED brightness control. The simplified block diagram illustrates this extremely simple external circuitry. When in the dot mode, there is a small amount of overlap or “fade” (about 1 mV) between segments. This assures that at no time will all LEDs be “OFF”, and thus any ambiguous display is avoided. Various novel displays are possible. Much of the display flexibility derives from the fact that all outputs are individual, DC regulated currents. Various effects can be achieved by modulating these currents. The individual outputs can drive a transistor as well as a LED at the same time, so controller functions including “staging” control can be performed. The LM3914 can also act as a programmer, or sequencer. The LM3914 is rated for operation from 0°C to +70°C. The LM3914N-1 is available in an 18-lead molded (N) package. The following typical application illustrates adjusting of the reference to a desired value, and proper grounding for accurate operation, and avoiding oscillations.

The ADC0808, ADC0809 data acquisition component is a monolithic CMOS device with an 8-bit analog-to-digital converter, 8-channel multiplexer and microprocessor compatible control logic. The 8-bit A/D converter uses successive approximation as the conversion technique. The converter features a high impedance chopper stabilized comparator, a 256R voltage divider with analog switch tree and a successive approximation register. The 8-channel multiplexer can
directly access any of 8-single-ended analog signals. The device eliminates the need for external zero and full-scale adjustments. The LM2576 series of regulators are monolithic integrated circuits that provide all the active functions for a step-down (buck) switching regulator, capable of driving 3A load with
excellent line and load regulation. These devices are available in fixed output voltages of 3.3V, 5V, 12V, 15V, and an adjustable output version. General Description
The 16:1 Mux selects one of sixteen inputs, E0 through E15, specified by four binary select inputs, A, B, C, and D. The true data is output on Y and the inverted data on W. Propagation
delays are the same for both inputs and addresses and are specified for 50 pF loading. Outputs conform to the standard 8 mA LS totem pole drive standard.

The LMV7291 is a rail-to-rail input low power comparator, characterized at supply voltage 1.8V, 2.7V and 5.0V. It consumes only 9uA supply current per channel while achieving a 800ns propagation delay. The LMV7291 is available in SC70 package. With this tiny package, the PC board area can be significantly reduced. It is ideal for low voltage, low power and space critical designs. General Description
The LM1283 is a full feature video amplifier with OSD inputs, all within a 28-pin package. This part is intended for use in monitors with resolutions up to 1280 x 1024. The video section of the LM1283 features three matched video amplifiers with blanking. All of the video amplifier adjustments feature high input impedance 0V to 4V DC controls, providing easy interfacing to bus controlled alignment systems. The OSD section features three TTL inputs and a DC contrast control. The switching between the OSD and video section is controlled by a single TTL input. Although the OSD signals are TTL inputs, these signals are internally processed to match the OSD logic low level to the video black level. When adjusting the drive controls for color balance of the video signal, the color balance of the OSD display will track these color adjustments. The LM1283 also features an internal spot killer circuit to protect the CRT when the monitor is turned off. For applications without OSD insertion please refer to the LM1205 or LM1208 data sheets.

General Description
The LM3886 is a high-performance audio power amplifier capable of delivering 68W of continuous average power to a 4W load and 38W into 8W with 0.1% (THD + N) from 20 Hz–20 kHz.
The performance of the LM3886, utilizing its Self Peak Instantaneous Temperature (°Ke) (SPiKe™) Protection Circuitry, puts it in a class above discrete and hybrid amplifiers by providing an inherently, dynamically protected Safe Operating Area (SOA). SPiKe Protection means that these parts are completely safeguarded at the output against overvoltage, undervoltage, overloads, including shorts to the supplies, thermal runaway, and instantaneous temperature peaks.
The LM3886 maintains an excellent Signal-to-Noise Ratio of greater than 92 dB with a typical low noise floor of 2.0 µV.
