DESCRIPTION
The LX8585/85A Series ICs are low dropout three-terminal regulators with a minimum of 4.6A output current. Pentium® Processor and Power PCTM applications requiring fast transient response are ideally suited for this product family. The LX8585A is guaranteed to have < 1.2V at 4.6A, while the LX8585 are specified for 1.4V, making them ideal to provide well regulated outputs of 2.5V to 3.6V using a 5V input supply. Fixed versions are also available and specified in the Available Options table below. Current limit is trimmed above 4.6A to ensure adequate output current and controlled short-circuit current. On-chip thermal limiting provides protection against any possible overload that would create excessive junction temperatures. The LX8585/85A family is available in both through-hole and surface-mount versions of the industry standard 3-pin TO-220 / TO-263 power packages.
The LX1431 Programmable Reference and LX8585A Series products offer precision output voltage and are ideal for use in VRE applications (see application below). For higher current applications, see the LX8584 data sheet.

DESCRIPTION
LX1996 is an integrated white LED driver for notebook size displays. It is designed to drive up to six strings of LEDs. The LX1996 consists of a boost converter and six precision current sources. It also includes a direct analog light sensor interface and can be dimmed by a PWM signal or by application of a DC control voltage.
Precision current mirror circuitry sets all channels to the same current with a single programming input. The current value can be programmed up to 30mA per channel with a single resistor from the PRG pin to ground. Channel to channel matching is within ± 0.5 percent typical at 25°C ambient of the channels mean at the rated output current.
Unique design features include temperature compensated LED current, and audible noise reduction using Ultrasonic Pulse Skipping.
Temperature compensated LED current is accomplished by a dedicated input pin (OT) that in conjunction with an external thermistor measures the LED’s ambient temperature and thereby prevents over temperature stress to the LEDs by keeping them within their safe operating area.
Additional features include low sleep mode current (6μA typ.) for extending battery time, multi-mode dimming via ambient light sensor interface, analog dimming, direct PWM dimming and combination of analog and direct PWM dimming for up to a 25000:1 dimming range.
The LX1996 is designed to work over a wide input voltage range from 6V to 28Vdc with adjustable over voltage protection (OVP), and short and open LED protection.
The LX1996 comes in a compact thermal efficient 4x4mm 24pin MLPQ package.

DESCRIPTION
The MC34064 is an undervoltage sensing circuit designed specifically for use as a reset controller in microprocessor- based systems. It offers the designer an economical, space-efficient solution for low supply voltage detection when used in combination with a single pullup resistor. Adding one capacitor offers the functionality of a programmable delay time after power returns. The 34064 consists of a temperature stable reference comparator with hysteresis, high-current clamping diode and open collector output stage capable of sinking up to 60mA. The MC34064's RESET output is specified to be fully functional at VIN=1V. A major improvement over competing products is the glitch-free supply current during undervoltage detection. DESCRIPTION
Proliferation of digital portable electronic equipment has created a noisy environment in which all devices become susceptible to Electromagnetic Interference (EMI). Interference form cell phone frequencies of 800-900 MHz and 1.9GHz as well as the growing wireless LAN frequencies of 2.4-6GHz can couple into the audio port of a handheld device and adversely affect its performance. FCC Part 15 sets maximum allowable emission and immunity levels for all digital devices.
LX7206 is an integrated low pass filter with ESD protection that filters out the undesired frequencies as well as protecting the port against both positive and negative ESD voltages. The device is a 3x2 array flip chip and measures 1.5 x 1.0 x 0.65 mm. The small size and profile of this device is ideally suited for portable applications. The absence of leadframe and bondwires minimizes inductance and optimizes the high frequency filter performance.
LX7206 exceeds the requirements of IEC61000-4-2 (15KV air discharge and 8KV contact discharge).

DESCRIPTION
The LX2208 is a single cell Lithium Ion or Lithium Polymer battery charger. The controller will charge a single cell Li-Ion battery from either a wall adapter or a USB power source. A low under-voltage lockout level increases usable charging range from a current limited power source. In addition, there is a linear die temperature thermal control loop, which limits the heat dissipation while still charging the battery. There are three logic selectable and programmable charge current levels: the high charge programming level is typically set for charging from the
wall adapter, the low level charge programming is typically set to 500mA for full USB charging and 100mA (20%) for reduced USB charging.
In addition to setting the high-level charge current, the HCP programming resistor also sets the termination current at 10% of the constant current level and the conditioning current at 5% of the constant current level. Power status indicators STAT and DC OK can be configured to show charge in progress, battery fully charged and external power on. The STAT pin is capable of sourcing or sinking 5mA. The DC OK output is an open drain output and can sink 10mA.
The LX2208 enters a low quiescent current shut down when power is removed from the IN pin or when it is logically shutdown to minimize battery drain.
Protection features include: under voltage lock out, reverse current blocking on the IN pin, internal die temperature thermal loop to reduce charge current to maintain a safe die temperature, and a unsafe battery temperature charge inhibitor. For charging deeply discharged batteries, the controller includes a conditioning charge mode. The LX2208 comes in a 3x3mm 12 pin MLPD package.

DESCRIPTION
 Microsemi’s LX6512 is a cost effective, Direct Drive CCFL (Cold Cathode Fluorescent Lamp) controller.
The integrated controller is optimized to drive CCFL’s (Cold Cathode Fluorescent Lamps) using either resonant full bridge inverter topology or push-pull Direct Drive configurations.
Resonant full bridge topology provides near sinusoidal waveforms over a wide supply voltage range in order to maximize the life of CCFL lamps, control EMI emissions, and maximize efficiency.
This new architecture is also coupled with a wide dimming range capability.
For fixed input supply applications the LX6512 uses Direct Drive topology to supply fixed frequency PWM signals connected directly to the high voltage transformer primary via a single pair of NFET drivers, providing a simple, low cost inverter solution.
The LX6512 contains safety features that limit the transformer secondary voltage and protect against fault conditions which include open lamp, broken lamp and short-circuit faults.
The over voltage fault shutdown is disabled during a user programmable interval to allow lamp strike.
The controller can accept a brightness control signal that is either an analog voltage level, or a direct low frequency PWM.
Utilizing this signal it provides CCFL brightness dimming control using digital dimming, to achieve a wide dimming range (> 60 to 1).
An integrated 4V LDO (Low Dropout Regulator) powers all internal control circuitry and up to 5mA for external circuitry greatly simplifying supply voltage requirements.
The LX6512 is available in a 16-Pin TSSOP and 3x3 mm 16pin QFN.
