General Description
Teccor offers bidirectional alternistors with current ratings from 6 A to 40 A and voltages from 200 V to 1000 V as part of Teccor's broad line of thyristors. Teccor's alternistor is specifically designed for applications that switch highly inductive loads. A special chip offers the same performance as two thyristors (SCRs) wired inverse parallel (back-to-back), providing better turn-off behavior than a standard triac. An alternistor may be triggered from a blocking to conduction state for either polarity of applied AC voltage with operating modes in Quadrants I, II, and III.
This new chip construction provides two electrically separate SCR structures, providing enhanced dv/dt characteristics while retaining the advantages of a single-chip device.
All alternistors have glass-passivated junctions to ensure longterm reliability and parameter stability. Teccor's glass-passivated junctions offer a reliable barrier against junction contamination.
Teccor's TO-218X package is designed for heavy, steady powerhandling capability. It features large eyelet terminals for ease of soldering heavy gauge hook-up wire. All the isolated packages have a standard isolation voltage rating of 2500 V rms.
Variations of devices covered in this data sheet are available for custom design applications. Consult the factory for further information.
Features
*RoHS Compliant
*High surge current capability
*Glass-passivated junctions
*2500 V ac isolation for L, J, and K Packages
*High commutating dv/dt
*High static dv/dt

Description
The Littelfuse Industrial TMOV34S series thermally protected varistor represents a new development in circuit protection. It consists of a 34mm square format varistor element ( MOV) with an integral thermally activated element designed to open in the event of overheating due to abnormal over-voltage, limited current conditions as outlined in UL1449 Feb. 1998 edition. The device has a third lead, an indicator lead, which may be used to indicate that the MOV has been disconnected from the circuit. This lead facilitates connection to monitoring circuitry. The TMOV34S devices offer quick thermal response due to the close proximity of the integrated thermal element to the MOV body. The integrated configuration also offers lower inductance than most discreet solutions resulting in improved clamping performance to fast over-voltage transients.

Description
The MLN SurgeArray™ Suppressor is designed to help protect components from transient voltages that exist at the circuit board level. This device provides four independent suppressors in a single leadless chip in order to reduce part count and placement time as well as save space on printed circuit boards.
SurgeArray™ devices are intended to suppress ESD, EFT and other transients in order to protect integrated circuits or other sensitive components operating at any voltage up to 18VDC. SurgeArray devices are rated to the IEC 61000-4-2 human body model ESD to help products attain EMC compliance. The array offers excellent isolation and low crosstalk between sections.
The inherent capacitance of the SurgeArray Suppressor permits it to function as a filter/suppressor, thereby replacing separate zener/capacitor combinations.
The MLN array is manufactured using the Littelfuse Multilayer technology process and is similar to the Littelfuse ML and MLE Series of discrete leadless chips.
The MLN can also be provided in a Dual version. Contact Littelfuse for information.

Description
PulseGuard ESD Suppressors help protect sensitive electronic equipment against electrostatic discharge (ESD). They supplement the on-chip protection of integrated circuitry and are best suited for low-voltage, high-speed applications where low capacitance is important. Data ports
utilizing such high-speed protocols as USB 2.0, IEEE1394, HDMI and DVI can benefit from this new technology. PulseGuard suppressors use polymer composite materials to suppress fast-rising ESD transients (as specified in IEC 61000-4-2), while adding virtually no capacitance to the circuit.

Description
This new broadband protection device from Littelfuse provides overvoltage protection for applications such as 10/100/1000 BaseT Ethernet, T3/E3 DS3 interfaces, ADSL2+, and VDSL2+. This new protector combines the TVS diode element with a diode rectifier bridge to provide
both longitudinal and differential protection in one package.
This design innovation results in a capacitive loading characteristic that is log-linear with respect to the signal voltage across the device.
This reduces intermodulation (IM) distortion caused by a typical solid-state protection
solution.
The application schematic provides the connection information.

Description
The SP725 is an array of SCR/Diode bipolarstructures for ESD and overvoltage protection of sensitive inputs circuits.
The SP725 has 2 protection SCR/Diode device structures per input.
There are a total of 4 available inputs that can be used to protect up to 4 external signal or bus lines.
Overvoltage protection is from the IN (Pins 1 - 4) to V+ or V-.
The SCR structures are dusigned for fast triggering at athreshold of one +VBE diode threshold above V+ (Pin 5,6) or one -VBE diode threshold below V- (Pin 7,8).
From an IN input, a clamp to V+ is activated if a transient pulse causes the input to be increased to a voltage level greater than one VBE above V+.
A similar clamp to V- is activated if a negative pulse, one VBE less than V-, is applied to an IN input.
Refer to Fig 1 and Table 1 for further detaels.
Refer to Application Note AN9304 and AN9612 for furter detail.
