DESCRIPTION
The DS1315 Phantom Time Chip is a combination of a CMOS timekeeper and a nonvolatile memory controller. In the absence of power, an external battery maintain the timekeeping operation and provides power for a CMOS static RAM. The watch keeps track of hundredths of seconds, seconds, minutes, hours, day, date, month, and year information. The last day of the month is automatically adjusted for months with less than 31 days, including leap year correction. The watch operates in one of two formats: a 12-hour mode with an AM/PM indicator or a 24-hour mode. The nonvolatile controller supplies all the necessary support circuitry to convert a CMOS RAM to a nonvolatile memory. The DS1315 can be interfaced with either RAM or ROM without leaving gaps in memory.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The DS28E01-100 combines 1024 bits of EEPROM with challenge-and-response authentication security implemented with the ISO/IEC 10118-3 Secure Hash Algorithm (SHA-1). The 1024-bit EEPROM array is configured as four pages of 256 bits with a 64-bit scratchpad to perform write operations. All memory pages can be write protected, and one page can be put in EPROM-emulation mode, where bits can only be changed from a 1 to a 0 state. Each DS28E01-100 has its own guaranteed unique 64-bit ROM registration number that is factory lasered into the chip. The DS28E01-100 communicates over the single-contact 1-Wire® bus. General Description
The DS2045 is a 1Mb reflowable nonvolatile (NV) SRAM, which consists of a static RAM (SRAM), an NV controller, and an internal rechargeable manganese lithium (ML) battery. These components are encased in a surface-mount module with a 256-ball BGA footprint. Two versions of the DS2045 are available, which provide either a 5% or 10% power-monitoring trip point. The DS2045 also contains a power-supply monitor output, RST, which can be used as a CPU supervisor for a microprocessor.

DESCRIPTION
The DS87C520/DS83C520 EPROM/ROM High-Speed Micro is a fast 8051-compatible microcontroller. It features a redesigned processor core without wasted clock and memory cycles. As a result, it executes every 8051 instruction between 1.5 and 3 times faster than the original for the same crystal speed. Typical applications will see a speed improvement of 2.5 times using the same code and the same crystal. The DS87C520/DS83C520 offers a maximum crystal speed of 33 MHz, resulting in apparent execution speeds of 82.5 MHz (approximately 2.5X).
The DS87C520/DS83C520 is pin-compatible with all three packages of the standard 8051 and includes standard resources such as three timer/counters, serial port, and four 8-bit I/O ports. It features 16 kB of EPROM or Mask ROM with an extra 1 kB of data RAM. Both OTP and windowed packages are available.
Besides greater speed, the microcontroller includes a second full hardware serial port, seven additional interrupts, programmable Watchdog Timer, Brown-out Monitor, and Power-Fail Reset. The device also provides dual data pointers (DPTRs) to speed block data memory moves. It also can adjust the speed of MOVX data memory access from two to nine machine cycles for flexibility in selecting external memory and peripherals.
A new Power Management Mode (PMM) is useful for portable applications. This feature allows software to select a lower speed clock as the main time base. While normal operation has a machine cycle rate of 4 clocks per cycle, the PMM runs the processor at 64 or 1024 clocks per cycle. For example, at 12 MHz, standard operation has a machine cycle rate of 3 MHz. In Power Management Mode, software can select either 187.5 kHz or 11.7 kHz machine cycle rate. There is a corresponding reduction in power consumption when the processor runs slower.
The EMI reduction feature allows software to select a reduced emission mode. This disables the ALE signal when it is unneeded.
The DS83C520 is a factory Mask ROM version of the DS87C520 designed for high-volume, costsensitive applications. It is identical in all respects to the DS87C520, except that the 16 kB of EPROM is replaced by a user-supplied application program. All references to features of the DS87C520 will apply to the DS83C520, with the exception of EPROM-specific features where noted. Please contact your local Dallas Semiconductor sales representative for ordering information.

DESCRIPTION
The DS5000FP Soft Microprocessor Chip is an 8051-compatible processor based on NV RAM
technology. It is substantially more flexible than a standard 8051, yet provides full compatibility with the 8051 instruction set, timers, serial port, and parallel I/O ports. By using NV RAM instead of ROM, the user can program and then reprogram the microcontroller while in-system. The application software can even change its own operation, which allows frequent software upgrades, adaptive programs, customized systems, etc. In addition, by using NV SRAM, the DS5000FP is ideal for data-logging applications and it connects easily to a Dallas real-time clock for time stamp and date.
The DS5000FP provides the benefits of NV RAM without using I/O resources. It uses a non-multiplexed Byte-wide address and data bus for memory access. This bus can perform all memory access and provides decoded chip enables for SRAM. This leaves the 32 I/O port pins free for application use. The DS5000FP uses ordinary SRAM and battery backs the memory contents with a user’s external lithium cell. Data is maintained for over 10 years with a very small lithium cell. A DS5000FP also provides crashproof operation in portable systems or systems with unreliable power. These features include the ability to save the operating state, Power-fail Reset, Power-fail Interrupt, and Watchdog Timer.
A user loads programs into the DS5000FP via its on-chip Serial Bootstrap Loader. This function
supervises the loading of code into NV RAM, validates it, then becomes transparent to the user. Software can be stored in an 8-kbyte or 32-kbyte CMOS SRAM. Using its internal Partitioning, the DS5000FP will divide this common RAM into user programmable code and data segments. This Partition can be selected at program loading time, but can be modified anytime later. It will decode memory access to the SRAM, communicate via its Byte-wide bus and write-protect the memory portion designated as ROM.
Combining program and data storage in one device saves board space and cost. The DS5000FP can also access a second 32 kbytes of NV RAM but this area is restricted to data memory. For a user that wants a pre-constructed module using the DS5000FP, RAM, lithium cell, and optional real time clock; the DS2250(T) and DS5000(T) are available and described in separate data sheets. More details are also contained in the User’s Guide section of the Secure Microcontroller Data Book.

DESCRIPTION
The DS2109 is intended for one chip Plug and Play (PnP) SCSI termination.
Plug and Play SCSI requires the exit–point terminator on computer motherboards or host bus adapters to automatically switch off if an external device is connected to the system.
The DS2109 satisfies this requirement by offering the engineer a choice of onboard current sensing circuitry or onboard ground detect circuitry.
If an external device is connected, the DS2109 will automatically be isolated from the SCSI
bus thereby maintaining proper system termination.
The DS2109 integrates a low drop–out regulator, 18 precise switched 110 ohm termination resistors, and bus termination sensors into a 28–pin 300 mil SOIC package.
Active termination provides: greater immunity to voltage drops on the TERMPWR (TERMination PoWeR) line, enhanced high–level noise immunity, intrinsic TERMPWR decoupling, and very low quiescent current consumption.
The DS2109 contains an output port that can control the power down pin of additional terminators (DS21S07A) for Wide SCSI applications.
FEATURES
* Fully compliant with SCSI–1, Fast SCSI and Ultra SCSI
* Compatible with Plug and Play SCSI Profile
* Functionally compatible with DS21S07A
* Provides active termination for 18 signal lines
* 2% tolerance on termination resistors and voltage regulator
* Bus termination sensing
* Low power down capacitance of 3 pF
* Onboard thermal shutdown circuitry
