DESCRIPTION
The CAT6218 is a 300mA CMOS low dropout regulator that provides fast response time during load current and line voltage changes.
The quick-start feature allows the use of an external bypass capacitor to reduce the overall output noise without affecting the turn-on time of just 150μs.
With zero shutdown current and low ground current of 55μA typical, the CAT6218 is ideal for batteryoperated devices with supply voltages from 2.3V to 5.5V. An internal under voltage lockout circuit disables the output at supply voltages under 2.1V typical.
The CAT6218 offers 1% initial accuracy and low dropout voltage, 180mV typical at 300mA. Stable operation is provided with a small value ceramic capacitor, reducing required board space and compo–nent cost.
Other features include fold-back current current limit and thermal protection.
The device is available in the low profile (1mm max height) 5-lead thin SOT23 package.

DESCRIPTION
The CAT4016 is a 16 channel constant current driver for LED billboard and other general display applications. LED channel currents are programmed together via an external RSET resistor. Low output voltage operation on the LED channels as low as 0.4V (for 2 to 100mA LED current) allows for more power efficient designs.
A high-speed 4-wire serial interface of up to 25MHz clock frequency controls each individual channel using a shift register and latch configuration. A serial output data pin (SOUT) allows multiple devices to be cascaded and programmed via one serial interface. The device also includes a blanking control pin (BLANK) that can be used to disable all channels independently of the interface.
Thermal shutdown protection is incorporated in the device to disable the LED outputs if the die temperature exceeds a set limit.
The device is available in the 24-lead SOIC, TSSOP, QSOP and the compact TQFN 4 x 4mm packages.

DESCRIPTION
The CAT3604V is a high efficiency Quad-ModeTM fractional charge pump that can drive up to four LEDs with input supply voltages as low as 2.5V.
An external RSET resistor is used to control the LED channel brightness while channel diagnostics include automatic detection for both short and open LED channel conditions, ensuring the CAT3604V maintains the highest efficiency level in all operating modes.
Each operating mode uses a constant high frequency switching scheme which allows the use of small form factor external ceramic capacitors while delivering excellent low noise input supply ripple up to 5.5 volts.
The EN input control supports direct PWM dimming and can accommodate dimming frequencies in excess of 10kHz thereby providing extremely high resolution brightness levels.
The device is available in the 16-pad low profile 0.8mm thin QFN (4mm x 4mm).

DESCRIPTION
CAT5120/5121/5122 linear-taper digitally programmable potentiometers perform the same function as a mechanical potentiometer or a variable resistor. These devices consist of a fixed resistor and a wiper contact with 16-tap points that are digitally controlled through a 2-wire up/down serial interface.
The CAT5120 is configured as a potentiometer. The CAT5121 and CAT5122 are configured as variable resistors. See Pin Configurations for part functionality. Three resistance values are available: 10kΩ, 50kΩ and 100kΩ. These are available in space-saving 5-pin and 6-pin SC-70 and SOT-23 packages.

DEVICE DESCRIPTION
The CAT24C03/CAT24C05 is a 2-kb/4-kb CMOS Serial EEPROM device organized internally as 16/32 pages of 16 bytes each, for a total of 256x8/512x8 bits. These devices support both Standard (100kHz) as well as Fast (400kHz) I2C protocol.
Data is written by providing a starting address, then loading 1 to 16 contiguous bytes into a Page Write Buffer, and then writing all data to non-volatile memory in one internal write cycle. Data is read by providing a starting address and then shifting out data serially while automatically incrementing the internal address count.
Write operations can be inhibited for upper half of memory by taking the WP pin High.
External address pins make it possible to address up to eight CAT24C03 or four CAT24C05 devices on the same bus.

DESCRIPTION
The CAT5128 is a single digitally programmable potentiometer (DPP™) designed as an electronic replacement for mechanical potentiometers and trim pots. Ideal for automated adjustments on high volume production lines, they are also well suited for applications where equipment requiring periodic adjustment is either difficult to access or located in a hazardous or remote environment.
The CAT5128 contains a 32-tap series resistor array connected between two terminals A and B. An up/down counter and decoder that are controlled by two input pins, determines which tap is connected to the wiper, W. Wiper-control of the CAT5128 is accomplished with two input control pins, U¯¯P and ¯D¯O¯W¯¯N¯. A high-to-low transition on the U¯¯P input increments the wiper position and a high-to-low transition on the ¯D¯O¯W¯¯N¯ input decrements the wiper position. The tap position is not stored in memory. The wiper is always set to the mid point, tap 15 at power up.
The digitally programmable potentiometer can be used as a three-terminal resistive divider or as a two-terminal variable resistor. DPPs bring variability and programmability to a wide variety of applications including control, parameter adjustments, and signal processing.

DESCRIPTION
The CAT1232LP and CAT1832 microprocessor supervisors can halt and restart a “hung-up” or “stalled” microprocessor, restart a microprocessor after a power failure, and debounce a manual/push-button microprocessor reset switch.
The devices are drop in replacements for the Maxim/Dallas Semiconductor DS1232LP and DS1832 supervisors Precision reference and comparator circuits monitor the 5V or 3.3V system power supply voltage, VCC.
During power-up or when the power supply falls outside selectable tolerance limits, both the RESET and RESET¯¯¯¯¯¯ become active.
After the power supply voltage rises above the RESET threshold voltage, the reset signals remain active for a minimum of 250ms, allowing the power supply and system processor to stabilize.
The trip-point tolerance input, TOL, selects the trip level tolerance to be either 5% or 10% for the CAT1232LP 5V supply and 10% or 20% for the CAT1832 3.3V supply.
Each device has a push-pull, active HIGH reset output.
The CAT1232LP also has an open drain, active LOW reset output while the CAT1832 also has a push-pull, active LOW reset output.
A debounced manual reset input activates the reset outputs and holds them active for a minimum period of 250ms after being released.
Also included is a watchdog timer to reset a microprocessor that has stopped due to a software or hardware failure.
Three watchdog time-out periods are selectable: 150ms, 600ms and 1.2s. If the ST¯¯ input is not strobed low before the watchdog time out period expires, the reset signals become active for a minimum of 250ms.
