GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The Aeroflex Laboratories transceiver model ACT4444 is a monolithic transceiver which provides full compliance with Macair and MIL-STD-1553 data bus requirements. The model ACT4444 performs the front-end analog function of inputting and outputting data through a transformer to a MIL-STD-1553 or Macair data bus with a few external components.
The ACT4444 can be considered a "Universal" Transceiver in that it is compatible with MIL-STD-1553A, B, Macair A-3818, A-4905, A-5232 and A-5690.
Design of these transceivers reflects particular attention to active filter performance. This results in low bit and word error rate with superior waveform purity and minimal zero crossover distortion. The ACT4444 active filter design has additional high frequency roll-off to provide the required Macair low harmonic distortion waveform without increasing the pulse delay characteristics significantly.
Efficient transmitter electrical and thermal design provides low internal power dissipation and heat rise at high and well as low duty cycles.
An optional receiver input threshold adjustment can be accomplished by the use of the "External Threshold" terminals.

DESCRIPTION
The CT1775 Universal MACAIR/1553 Dumb Remote Terminal Unit (RTU) consists of a transceiver, and encoder/decoder, control logic, dual rank I/O registers and internal clock oscillator packaged in a 1.6" x 1.9" hermetic hybrid. It provides all the functions required to interface between a MACAIR (sinusodial) or MIL-STD-1553 (Trapezoidal) serial MUX data bus and a subsystem parallel 3-state data highway. Utilizing several ASIC ICs, the CT1775 provides sufficient handshaking, control and data lines to permit versatile operation as a remote terminal, a bus controller or a bus monitor, in either single or dual redundant data bus configurations.
As a transmitter, the CT1775 accepts 8 bit or 16 bit parallel date from the subsystem, and outputs serial Manchester II coded Command, Status or Data words, under subsystem control. As a receiver, it accepts serial MIL-STD-1553 or MACAIR transmissions and transfers all Command, Status and Data words to the 8 bit or 16 bit data highway, under subsystem control. The CT1775 also provides flags to the subsystem when Broadcast, Mode Code, and Own Address (with parity) commands are decoded.
The CT1775 contains a terminal fail-safe timeout circuit which flags message lengths exceeding 768μs, and terminates serial data transmission. Wraparound selftest is initiated by a control line which causes the encoder serial output to be connected to the decoder input. The CT1775 provides a serial output of decoded words, thus allowing Command Word look ahead, for the fastest terminal response.

DESCRIPTION
The 16-bit wide UT54ACS164245S MultiPurpose transceiver is built using UTMC’s Commercial RadHardTM epitaxial CMOS technology and is ideal for space applications. This high speed, low power UT54ACS164245S transceiver is designed to perform multiple functions including: asynchronous two-way communication, signal buffering, voltage translation, and cold sparing. With VDD equal to zero volts, the UT54ACS164245S outputs and inputs present a minimum impedance of 1MW making it ideal for "cold spare" applications. Balanced outputs and low "on" output impedance make the UT54ACS164245S well suited for driving high capacitance loads and low impedance backplanes. The UT54ACS164245S enables system designers to interface 3.3 volt CMOS compatible components with 5 volt CMOS components. For voltage translation, the A port interfaces with the 3.3 volt bus; the B port interfaces with the 5 volt bus. The direction control (DIRx) controls the direction of data flow. The output enable (OEx) overrides the direction control and disables both ports. These signals can be driven from either port A or B. The direction and output enable controls operate these devices as either two independent 8-bit transceivers or one 16-bit transceiver.

DESCRIPTION
Constant Delay Filters are essential in wireless systems that are transmitting or receiving data at rapid rates in limited bandwidth channels. Here sharp filtering along with constant group delay must be present. To this end, Aeroflex has developed a series of high performance bandpass networks that meet these requirements.
These high performance IF Filters utilize a constantdelay / sharp attenuation parametric non-minimum phase function polynomial. The design is based upon minimizing selected coefficients of the power series expansion of the group delay response (linear and parabolic terms) to minimize pulse distortion of the applied signal while providing sharp attenuation characteristics.
FEATURES
*PARAMETRIC CONSTANT DELAY BANDPASS FILTERS
*MINIMIZED PARABOLIC, LINEAR AND RESIDUAL COMPONENTS OF DELAY
*HIGH SELECTIVITY
*SMALL SIZE
*FREQUENCY RANGE 500-5000MHZ

Organization and Application
The ACT8502 consists of six 16 channel muxes arranged as shown in the Block Diagram.
The ACT8502 design is inherently Radiation Hard due to the HS1840RH Multiplexers as well as
Microsemi Corp.
Transient Suppressors (Reference Microsemi MicroNotes Series 050 - page 14).
48 channels addressable by Bus A0~A3, in Three 16 channel blocks, each block enabled
separately.
Each block connects the addressed channel to two outputs, "Output" and "Current".
This technique enables selecting and reading a remote resistive sensor without the MUX
resistance being part of the measurement.
For grounded sensors, this is done by passing current to the sensor by means of the "Current" pin and reading the resultant voltage (proportional to the sensor resistance) at the "Output" pin.
NOTE: It is recommended that all "NC or "no connect pin", be grounded.
This eliminates or minimizes any ESD or static buildup.
